HUMAN OF GLASS

It is through his Human of Glass series, begun in 2020, that Flog has forged a distinctive visual language and a universe that speaks in silence.

This figure of glass—transparent, fragile, and luminous—is more than a body; it is the soul made visible. It embodies the delicate nature of the human condition: not only the vulnerability of flesh, but also the transparency and fragility of the mind, the self, and all that we carry within.

As the character moves through different moments and imagined scenes, it fills with color—emotions blooming like pigment in water. These colors are not merely aesthetic; they symbolize memories, knowledge, feelings, and values passed down, experienced, or discovered. They tell the invisible story of each individual—how we are shaped by love, loss, connection, and longing.

But beyond this emotional resonance, the figure also speaks to something deeper and more timeless: our inner child. There is a purity in its form, a dreamlike stillness that recalls childhood—a moment in life when imagination runs free, and dreams are boundless and without fear. The Human of Glass becomes a mirror to that time, when the world was vast and full of wonder, when the lines between reality and fantasy were joyfully blurred. In its silence and vulnerability, it invites us to return to that place within ourselves, to see the world again with open eyes and a heart unburdened by cynicism. Through this luminous being, Flog not only reflects who we are, but who we once were—and perhaps, who we still long to be.

Across various series, Flog constructs symbolic worlds where this character evolves, offering viewers a mirror of their own humanity—vulnerable, emotional, ever-changing—and a space where imagination and meaning are free to intertwine.
