On Cloud Nine

Artist Statement
For my first solo exhibition in Asia, I wanted to create a joyful and luminous encounter with my signature character: the Human of Glass.

On Cloud Nine is a series of vibrant, colorful paintings that explore a lighter atmosphere—one filled with emotion, wonder, and symbolic detail. I drew inspiration from elements of Asian culture such as origami, kites, and clouds, which naturally echo the poetic language of my character.

These objects, rich in meaning and emotion, resonate deeply with the Human of Glass-transparent, fragile, and luminous figure who reflects our inner world: our feelings, our dreams, our silent struggles, always with a sense of hope.

This exhibition represents a deliberate shift from the more introspective tone of my earlier series. Here, the intention was to welcome, to open up, to share—to offer a more immediate and intuitive reading of the values my character carries: emotion, gentleness, resilience, and imagination.

Through this series, I hope to create a suspended moment—an invitation to rise above, to float for a while on cloud nine, and to reconnect with the childlike wonder that lives within us all.
